The 2023 LinkedInsider Gift Guide

The holidays always sneak up on me! You too? I promise, there’s no need to fret about what to get your newest hire, your brother-in-law in finance, or the coworker you drew in this year’s Secret Santa. Lucky for both of us, I did a little pre-holiday gift scouting. 

Of course, I can’t take all the credit. I took my own advice and tapped my network to bring you the (drumroll please) 2023 LinkedInsider Gift Guide. Complete with a few things I’m currently loving as well as lots of thoughtful ideas from my great gift-giver colleagues and friends! 

Before we dive in, just a reminder that “stuff” is not the reason for the season. Still, the holidays sure are a good time to let your people know you’re thinking of them! There’s no better moment than right now to show your partners or employees know you value their hard work.

Client and partner gifts aren’t a must for every industry, but they can be a great way to say “thank you” and acknowledge the importance of your relationship. Strike just the right note with these gifts, available in a range from affordable to bougie.

From phones and headphones to laptops and webcams, we’re always charging one device or another. Give the gift of “extra juice” on the go with a branded charger. High-End Stationery 

In this digital world, writing things down with a pen and paper feels nostalgic and refreshing. A classy stationery set with a nice pen stands out in the sea of gadgets. For YoPros

My friend and Founder over at YoPro Know, Kamber Parker, told me that the number one thing young professionals want this year is flexible working options. Noted! If you’re not in a position to give the gift of time and remote work, try these go-to gifts instead. 

Gym or Fitness Membership 

More than previous generations, young professionals value experiences over things. Something like ClassPass is a great option because it allows the recipient to try out different fitness classes—from yoga and pilates to HIIT and more. 

Coffee Membership

Treat the YoPros in your life to coffee with a membership or subscription. If you’re buying for your team, how about a month’s supply of coffee from a roaster near the office? For a digital option, Trade is a popular choice. It lets subscribers tailor shipments to their coffee preferences.

For any entrepreneur, excellent headphones are a must. Look for something wireless with professional sound quality with investors, partners, and clients. A friend of mine loves AirPods Max because you can take calls on them, but the over-the-head design means people won’t bother you. 

For Coworkers

Burned out on White Elephant? I hear you. Don’t overthink it. For coworkers, simple and sweet is the name of the game. Think about items that will make their everyday work environment a little more pleasant. 

Desk Succulents

Who couldn’t use a little pop of green at their desks? Support a local nursery and pick out one or a few succulents for a colleague. There’s really no right type—just choose whatever captures your attention. Alternatively, ship a succulent to a remote teammate with an online service. I love that this succulent brand gives a portion of its proceeds to support clean water in the developing world. 

Laptop Stand 

Great for working remotely, a laptop stand makes a great coworker gift. Even if they already have one, it’s nice to have one at the office and another at home. I’ve been eyeing this adjustable laptop stand made from sustainable materials. It packs away into a compact little pouch for easy stashing.  

Whether you’re looking for a gift to share with the person one cubicle over or across the world, there are tons of ways to make someone feel appreciated. With a little patience and creativity, you can knock out your work gift list in a single afternoon. Go ahead and pour a cup of hot cocoa, turn some festive music on, and get shopping!
